Since the founding of Marian Catholic High School, its mission has been and continues to be developing students spiritually, morally, academically, and socially by integrating the teachings of Jesus Christ with a value-centered curriculum. In a safe family atmosphere, the faculty and administration, challenge students not only to reach their highest academic potential, but also to adopt a disciplined work ethic necessary to become contributing self-sufficient citizens who give witness to the Catholic Faith.
Marian Catholic continues to expand its offerings in the arts, having a concert and marching band, along with a winter and spring chorus. Additionally, MCHS has expanded its performing arts program in recent years, including a Fall and Spring production, along with elective offerings in Drama.
Marian Catholic offers PIAA Varsity Sports in Baseball, Softball, Boys and Girls Basketball, Swimming, Cheerleading, Track and Field, Cross Country, and Volleyball. We sponsor a cooperative agreement with Panther Valley High School in boys and girls soccer and are a member of Schuylkill Haven’s wrestling program thanks to a co-op agreement. Marian has a long standing tradition of excellence in athletics, having hundreds of divisional championships, numerous district and state championships through its athletic programs.
We offer AP English and AP Calculus as in-person taught electives by Marian Faculty. Students also have the ability to take requested electives through Educere for other AP placement courses of their choosing. This year we had two students participate in a Penn State pre-medical program through the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit. Dual enrollment classes are offered through Alvernia and Lehigh Carbon Community College for all upperclassmen.
Marian Catholic was proud to start the Aquinas program beginning in the fall of 2021. We have been servicing our students with Service Plans as well as students with 504 plans through our Aquinas program in our Student Support Center.
We are fortunate to have two counselors working with our students on College and Career Counseling, one employed by Marian, and another provided to us by the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit. Together they form a comprehensive guidance curriculum for all grade levels focusing on college and career readiness and mental health.
