About Our School

The Mission of La Salle Academy is to send forth well-educated, morally conscientious citizens prepared and eager to give life-long responsible Christian witness as well as service to the world. This Mission will be accomplished in an environment of mutual respect and cooperative spirit among home, school, and parish communities.

The Academic Program

We provide competitive programs with well-rounded offerings to educate the whole person. The core curriculum is in alignment with state and national standards and is rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition.  In addition to the core curriculum, students participate in enrichment courses.

La Salle Academy is proud to offer an enrichment program for those students in Grades 3-8 who qualify.
La Salle’s Enrichment Program, LEP, provides enrichment opportunities without the student having to leave the school. Enrichment activities can be carried over into the classroom and shared with other students. Students’ interests guide the activities to make this an enjoyable, challenging, and educational experience.

Students qualify for the enrichment program through an evaluation process. The process involves parental permission, teacher input about classroom performance, and intelligence testing administered by the school psychologist.

Athletics

La Salle is proud of our Athletes! In addition to learning about the importance of physical fitness in weekly gym classes La Salle students participate in extracurricular sports through Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) and Berks Catholic Youth Sports Programs. Athletics is not just about the final score; it’s about positive coaching, sportsmanship, maximizing talents, and fostering the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual strength in each participant.

How we support students with learning differences

La Salle Academy offers remediation in reading instruction for students in kindergarten through fourth grades. These services are provided through the Berks County Intermediate Unit.

Adaptations and modifications can be provided on an individual basis when necessary. Parents of students requiring these services meet with the Instructional Support Team, consisting of the parent, teacher, principal, and school psychologist to determine how to best meet the needs of the child.
